Parents of 32 students of the prestigious Presidency College staged a
protest in the college campus seeking the release of their sons who
were arrested by police three days ago.
Police arrested the students after they started recieving complaints
that the group of students were roaming menacingly and being a nuisance
to public on Pallavan Salai. The students were produced in court and
lodged in prison.
Seeking the release of the students, their parents and around 150 other students picketed the college campus.
Police officials held talks with the protestors. and advised the
parents to move the court seeking bail. Meanwhile, the college
administration has announced that the college will remain closed till
August 24.
